OOPS! ALL DEITIES!
This installment of No Gods But My Own will be a little bit different. I’ve been busy with a few other projects and it has left me lacking the time and energy to write up a full essay this time around. Since I didn’t want to let this project sit for too long, fearing that I would lose all momentum, I’ve decided it would be better just to draw up a couple of beings and let this loose. This will probably be the status quo around here for the next couple newsletters while I finish up a couple things so please bear with me.
BROTHER TOXIN
KEEPER OF POISONS
COLLECTOR OF PAIN
Brother Toxin lives to collect and later dispose of all that is toxic and unhealthy. He will accept any and all of the negativity that you send his way but one must be careful with Brother Toxin’s gluttony of pain. If too much is sent his way without giving him the chance to process and dispel his dark devourings there is ample chance he will burst and flood the poison right back to you.
The best altar to Brother Toxin is a Pain Jar. Much like a swear jar where you collect up money every time you use foul language, the Pain Jar is a place to deposit your pain and discomfort. When something toxic comes along you write it down and place that paper in the Pain Jar. When the jar is filled, dispose of it in the way that feels most fitting. Pour them out into the trash, light the paper on fire, douse the papers in water and flush them down the toilet. Whatever feels most appropriate to you.
SISTER SUCCOR
BRINGER OF RELIEF
LIGHT OF HEALTH
Sister Succor reveals her pure heart at all times, quite literally. When called upon she may descend on wings of billowing gauze and bathe you in her healing eminence. She is a spirit of relief and reparation.Â
Like all light, Sister Succor and her healing brilliance should only be called upon in moderation. Much like the sun, too much exposure and you are likely to get burned.Â
To petition Sister Succor for help, draw a healing sigil of your own creation upon your skin or a bandage placed over a wound. Repeat her name over and over, like a mantra, while drawing it out:
Sister Succor
Sister Succor
Sister Succor
She is not a cure but hopefully her presence can help the healing process.
NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
Last week WE THE HALLOWED released its newest audio sigil, DETRIT∴US. My partner in crime at WtH Keats Ross mixed and mastered the beast while I provided a some music, some art, and a bit of design in the included PDF.
Then there was the recent reveal of my cover for Anthony Tyler’s upcoming book, HUNT MANUAL: 21st CENTURY DEMONOLOGY & FORTEANA. This book is shaping up to be amazing. I’ll share links once I have them.
Right now I’m finishing up the Outlet Omnibus, a collection of my art and comics from over the last decade. I should be ordering up my first proof copies by the end of the week and I’m hoping to have it out by the end of September.
After that will be The Damned Machine: A Mundane Magic Toolbox. It’ll be a short book on how my years of working shit jobs have altered and improved my view of occult working. It’ll be a shorter pamphlet. Hoping to have that out by the end of October.
There’s more in the wings but nothing I want to announce yet.
NGBMO should continue coming out every five or six weeks.
Thanks for reading and subscribing.
Until next time,
EJM
